Sure is red bubble algae. And I agree it is much more attractive. However I believe it can get out of control just as fast. So be careful

Definitely can get out of control. Be careful with it in your overflow, it can quickly reduce flow in your overflow pipe

Def. keep a close eye on it.  A lot like valonia.  It will spread out of control if left unchecked.  Have a few natural consumers and you should have no trouble with it and even be able to keep some of it around.  I actually find it kind of attractive in the tank.  Very slimy if burst and can cause some minor stress in the tank if the slime is spread in the tank.  If manually removing do so at the base.
