Here are my Leds for my 30. Only got 13 @ 3 watt ... 4 @ 12000k , 3 @ 19000k and  6 @ 420nm I am running them on a Meanwell ELN-60-48p at 75 %. I just got in the 60 degree lens Reflectors so I am installing them today. I don't think I need them but we will see. I ordered another 72 more Leds for my 90 gal I'm building. I will use three Meanwells and have two strings of 12 leds per. I am writing a program for my Audrino for dimming and "weather control" of the tank.  Big Grin I just about finished the stand. Just need another sanding then off to the spray booth. Going to put on a nice high gloss black finish. here are some pics.[img][/img]

Awesome, you'll love them. Are they the XR-E's? We have 16 of them on our 10 gallon with 80 degree optics and its as bright as the 250 watt halide on our frag tank

I've had these for the last 5 months and they are great. lots of growth. I know I can put more but if its not broke don't fix it. I am trying to concentrate on my 90 gal but the coral monster has my wallet. I keep trying to fit more coral in this tank I think I am up to like 45 maybe 50 different types of coral now . I need to stop..... Well right after Monday when I buy this leather off of a woman in Nashua.  ;D Wiring Leds is simple. positive lead from the power source is soldered to the positive side of the Led then negative side of Led is wired to the positive of the next Led then repeat the the last negative is soldered to the negative of the power source or in my case the Meanwell .  :o The Meanwellhas the wires marked for positive and negative. For the dimness you can buy a plug adapter that has an adjustable voltage from 1 volt to 12 and you control the output current of the brightness of your Leds. I don't use Crees if you want to pay 7 to 12 dollars an led you can buy them but I don't got the money. I buy the star leds from Japan . Actually these Leds I bought for my 30 gal you can buy from California for 2.20 a piece. At your house in three days. Of course from Japan they are less but you wait a month. I have 70 on order from Japan and I paid less than 70 bucks for them. then 40 each for the meanwells , got three , then a couple of fuses and some wire stuff like that had hanging around. I bought some U channel aluminum for heat sink.  8)

Plus you got to think about it. LEDs are the new thing. Cree leds been out what a couple years now with a 3 watt 280 lume now there are .5 watt leds at 90 lume , 1 watt at 300 lume. Every year they are coming out with better and better leds .These people that buy a million Crees and separate drivers for each string and these super giant heat sinks spending 1200+ dollars and then they only run the leds at 50 % so the leds last 12 years instead of 10 so I am going to build a led light that has more than enough power for any coral and use the leds that are rateded the same as the Crees but with no name , use a good heat sink and I guarantee that my leds will last 10 years but what happens in 5 years when leds are 10 times better and 10 times cheaper. I will probably going to build and other led light and sell this one. All I am saying is that you don't need to go nuts or expensive to get more than you need for lighting for your tank.. Well got to go spoil my wife now I'll talk to you guys later.
